Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroir Decouverte

Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroir Decouverte

France > Burgundy

Sustainable

Patrick Piuze's Chablis "Terroir Découverte" is a distinguished white wine from Burgundy, France, crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard named "Des Couverts," situated near the Premier Cru Vaulorent on the north-facing side of the Grand Cru hill. This vineyard lies in a cool corridor, typically making it the last to be harvested at the village level by Patrick and his team.

The soil composition is 100% Kimmeridgian limestone with a higher clay content than other parts of Chablis, dating back to the Jurassic period.

In the glass, this Chablis presents a pale straw color with a supremely delicious bouquet wafting from the glass in a beautiful blend of pear, apple, oyster shell, chalky minerality, lemon blossoms, and a top-note of beeswax. The palate is focused and crisp, with a pretty core, and a long, complex, and classy finish.

This wine pairs excellently with seafood, particularly oysters, as well as poultry and mild cheeses.

Patrick Piuze is renowned for his meticulous approach to winemaking, emphasizing the expression of individual terroirs within Chablis. His commitment to natural fermentations and minimal intervention allows the unique characteristics of each vineyard to shine through in his wines.

Experience the elegance and precision of Chablis with Patrick Piuze's "Terroir Découverte," a wine that captures the essence of its exceptional vineyard site.
