Banhez Mezcal Artesanal is a handcrafted spirit produced by a cooperative of over 35 families in San Miguel Ejutla, Oaxaca. This ensamble mezcal blends 90% Espadín and 10% Barril agaves, resulting in a mild, floral, and fruity profile with notes of pineapple and banana. The production process honors centuries-old traditions, utilizing underground wood-fired pits for roasting, donkey-pulled tahonas for crushing, wooden fermentation tanks, and copper alembic stills for distillation. This meticulous approach yields a smooth and versatile mezcal, ideal for both sipping and cocktail creation.
