Partners Corinne and Katie create innovative and delicious California wines with a focus on uncommon varietals like this distinctive Verdelho from the Evina Vineyard in Contra Costa County, California. Planted in 2002, this vineyard is situated just two miles from the San Joaquin Delta, where warm days enhance the grape's golden, aromatic qualities, while cool Delta breezes preserve its vibrant acidity. The vines thrive in Sorrento silty clay loam soils and are organically farmed by Tom Morgan.

The winemaking process begins with hand-harvesting the Verdelho grapes in early September. After whole-cluster pressing, the juice undergoes a unique 'hyper-oxidation' technique, involving daily pump-overs for five days in stainless steel tanks. Once native fermentation initiates, the wine is transferred to a combination of neutral oak barrels and puncheons, fermenting to dryness over two weeks. Malolactic fermentation is halted to maintain acidity, and the wine ages on its lees for four months before bottling.

This Verdelho offers a fleshy yet bright profile, with saline notes and hints of lemon curd. Its balanced acidity and aromatic complexity make it a versatile choice for pairing with seafood or enjoying during celebratory occasions.
