Sustainable

Eda Rhyne’s Amaro Oscura is a bold and intricate dark amaro hailing from Asheville, North Carolina. Inspired by the Italian rabarbaro style, this unique interpretation centers around rhubarb root as its primary bittering agent. True to Appalachian tradition, the rhubarb is soaked in non-GMO corn distillate, then dried and smoked with hickory, imparting a distinctive smoky character.

This amaro incorporates over thirteen botanicals, many wild-foraged, including spicebush berries and branches, cherry bark, and spring spruce tips. Fortified with a base of non-GMO corn distillate and sweetened with beet sugar, it is aged for a minimum of one year in ex-rye whiskey barrels, deepening its complexity.

On the nose, notes of chicory coffee, cacao, and pine needles lead into a rich palate featuring kola nut, orange peel, and black peppercorn. The finish is long and layered, with flavors of lemon zest, saffron, rosemary oil, and the signature smoked rhubarb.

Amaro Oscura is non-chill filtered, contains no artificial coloring, and showcases Eda Rhyne’s commitment to tradition and innovation. At 30% ABV, it’s an exceptional addition to any amaro enthusiast’s collection.
