Erbaluna Barolo 2018
Erbaluna Barolo 2018
This is a deeply satisfying, classic Barolo at a really great price.
From the importer:
Brothers Severino and Andrea Oberto, from Erbaluna in La Morra, come from a long line of winemakers. In 1985, they took over their family winery, bringing a blend of tradition and modern techniques. They use organic farming and have upgraded their equipment, yet still age wine in century-old barrels from 1915, and their cellar holds bottles from the 1920s. Their wines—Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Dolcetto—reflect a mix of classic elegance and vibrant, fresh fruit flavors. With vineyards on steep, south-facing clay and limestone hills, they remain dedicated to their land and heritage. Erbaluna is truly a family-run, organic winery.
Rich and expressive, the 2018 Erbaluna Barolo offers aromas of dark cherry, dried rose, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it’s structured and balanced with notes of red fruit, spice, and a touch of licorice. The finish is long with firm tannins, reflecting the classic Barolo character and promising great aging potential.
