Great Heart Chardonnay

Rich and silky Stellenboch Chardonnay.  Some mild oak notes and subtle tropical tones, balanced with good acid and freshness.

From the importer:

100% Chardonnay. 
Sourced from a single vineyard, planted is deep loam-rich soils on the lower slopes of Helderberg Mountain. 
Cool grapes were pressed whole bunch and allowed to settle overnight. 
Racked to 225L French oak barriques (20% new), for fermentation with  indigenous yeasts with no sulphur or other additives added. 
Temperatures during fermentation were kept below 22°C. 
Malolactic fermentation took place naturally and then spent 10 months on the lees.
