Sustainable, Organic, and Woman Owner/Producer
Ingrid Groiss's Gemischter Satz Braitenpuechtorff is an Austrian white wine from the Weinviertel region. This traditional field blend is sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1951 by Ingrid's grandmother, featuring over a dozen grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Grauburgunder, and Pinot Blanc.
The vines, now over 60 years old, are cultivated organically, reflecting the family's commitment to sustainable viticulture. The grapes are co-planted, harvested, and fermented together using wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks, a method that honors Austria's winemaking traditions.
In the glass, this wine is a platinum-yellow hue. The nose a mix of floral, orchard and citrus fruits. On the palate, it offers a silky texture with bright citrus and apple fruit, leading to a balanced and refreshing finish.
Ingrid Groiss, who studied winemaking at Universität für Bodenkultur, leads the family estate with a focus on producing wines that reflect their terroir, grape variety, and vintage. The family oversees 20 hectares of organic vineyards, crafting a focused range of wines, including single vineyard selections from 50-year-old vines.
This Gemischter Satz is a super versatile food pairing, it can handle spice, vegetal flavors, or complex curries. It's also delightful on its own.
