Sidónio de Sousa Bairrada Reserva Branco
Sidónio de Sousa Bairrada Reserva Branco
Portugal > Bairrada
Sidónio de Sousa Bairrada Reserva Branco is a distinctive white wine from Portugal’s Bairrada region, produced from Bical and Cercial with a small percentage of Maria Gomes. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo 12 hours of skin maceration following gentle pressing, before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The wine develops further complexity through batonnage, which enhances texture and depth.
In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow color with aromas of green apple, citrus, and subtle mineral notes. The palate is marked by lively acidity, a creamy, textural mouthfeel, and flavors of citrus, pear, and peach. The finish is warm, persistent, and finely balanced, highlighting both freshness and richness.
The estate vineyards are located in Figueira da Costa near Ancas, a transitional zone that benefits from the interplay of Atlantic breezes and continental warmth. This unique setting, combined with traditional winemaking, produces a white wine of clarity, elegance, and lasting character.
