Sustainable

Surrau Naracu Cannonau di Sardegna DOC is a vibrant red wine from Sardinia, Italy, crafted from 100% Cannonau grapes—the island's primary red varietal. The grapes are sourced from 20-year-old vines rooted in sandy, weathered granite soils at an elevation of 150 meters above sea level in the Arzachena region. Cultivated using sustainable practices, the vineyards employ natural soil management without chemical weeding. After fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in stainless steel tanks, followed by an additional three months in the bottle, preserving its fresh and open character.

In the glass, this wine presents a medium ruby hue. On the nose, it offers tart and fruity aromas of cranberries, red plums, orange peel, and raspberries, with undertones of graphite and brick providing a stony, dusty balance. The palate is characterized by astringent fruit flavors, with acidity igniting firm tannins, leading to a blazing, bitter cocoa finish.

This wine pairs well with a variety of dishes, including roasted meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses.

The name "Naracu" refers to ancient fortresses, known as Nuraghe, built by Mediterranean civilizations and still found across Sardinia, symbolizing the wine's deep connection to the island's heritage.
