Go-To Wines for Hot AF Summer Days
When the heat is scorching, opt for wines that refresh and cool. Crisp whites offer zesty acidity and citrusy notes that quench thirst. Rosé wines with their light, fruity profiles are delightful for sipping in the sun. Orange wine's distinct amber hue and earthy undertones add a touch of adventure to outdoor gatherings, providing a cool and distinctive option for those seeking something different in the heat of summer. Ultimately, we like to choose wines that are light-bodied, chilled to perfection, and bring a refreshing respite from the summer heat, making every sip a cool escape. Here are our go-tos this summer.
Bonny Doon Vineyard Le Cigare Orange
Crisp nose of citrus and delicate white flowers. Palate has fun silky pear notes, plus some line zest, and a hint of resin, with a persistent mineral finish.
Contatto, Vinho Verde Avesso
Our lightest orange wine. Made from sustainably-farmed, Portuguese Arinto.
Wild Nature Wines, Prosecco Rosé Brut Nature
Dry with soft, fine bubbles, notes of raspberries, tart strawberries, and a bit floral. Organic and biodynamically farmed.
Ingrid Groiss Gemischter Satz Braitenpuechtorff
Gemischter Satz is a traditional field blend made from indigenous Austrian grape varieties. It's fresh and crisp with vibrant acidity. Notes of green apple, citrus, with hints of stone fruit and floral undertones.
Gaintza Txakolina Blanco
On the palate, bright citrus, apple and green herbs. Finishes salty and clean. Sustainably farmed on the North coast of Spain just west of San Sebastián.
Nortico Alvarinho
Charming and easy drinking Alvarinho from Portugal. A little fruity, with green notes and great acidity. Really crowd pleasing and versatile, and a great value.
